Apple Picking

Daniel started preschool a few weeks ago and I thought it would be fun every now and then to do something as a family that coincided with what he was learning in school. On the calendar 2 weeks ago, it said they were learning about apples so I thought it would be a good idea to go to Oak Glen and actually pick apples. So on Saturday the 8th, we had a birthday party in the morning but around 1:30 we were headed out there. First we hit crazy awful traffic. Then we get there and there are a million people. Then we go to the farms and ask where we go to pick apples and we are told that there was no more apple picking because they ration how much can be picked a day and so they stopped letting people pick at like 11. BOO! Instead we went to the general store and Daniel got to pick out apples and he made sure we got red and green and yellow cuz that's what colors apples are. While standing in line he took a honey crisp apple out of our box and just started going to town on it. It looked so funny. Despite the fact that nothing went as planned Daniel still had a good time getting his apples and boy are they yummy.

This last one is from when we went to Kobe Steakhouse. He wanted to eat with chopsticks like mommy. Not too shabby for his first time.

Mega bummer that nothing went as planned! But way to make the best of it, I probably would have pouted and gone home. Honey crisp apples are my absolute favorite! And love the chop sticks!

What a darling boy!! Can't wait to squeeze him again! Sounds like a fun outing even if it didn't go as planned!
