Weight Loss Update

Well I am going to do this in Biggest Loser style. Tuesday was a good day, I felt good about how I did with eating, and the same goes for Wednesday and Thursday. I played about an hour of basketball on Wednesday as well. Friday started good and ended ok, because I always plan on having what I want to eat on date night minus the soda. Saturday started out good with a basketball game, but ended not so good because of an Elder's Quorum BBQ, and Sunday was pretty good. Monday was good as well once again following my program. My idea is simple so far. Eat less, and eat at good intervals. I have a slim fast in the morning, a snack, lunch is either a slim fast or a chunky soup only 260 calories, another snack, and then a dinner and mostly its the dinner where I have to make an effort not to gorge myself. My beggining weight for the week was 245.6, and my weight this morning was 239.6, a loss of an even 6 pounds and a percentage of weight loss of 2.44%. I am very happy with this start and hope that I can continue to do well. I know that losing 6 pounds a week is just not gonna happen, especially if I am not working out more, but I am glad to know that the effort that I put in this week paid off and I am ready to begin another good week. Thanks for all your support.

Weight Loss

At the beginning of the year I made a commitment to lose weight along with my brother T.J. and I don't know how he is doing with it, but I have failed miserably at that commitment. However, I have not given up or given in to the fact that it cannot happen. After posting my highest weight ever on facebook of 245 pounds and asking for suggestions I have decided to recommit myself to losing weight. It all started today when I officially began my weight loss commitment at a weight of 245.6 pounds. I know that Erin wants to lose weight as well, and she will be joining in with me in making this public. I wanted to do my weigh-ins on Tuesday because it coincides with Biggest Loser, and I thought about taking pictures of myself for all to see like how they made the contestants show how fat they had become to their friends and family in public, but I decided to spare you that. However, Erin and I may be making a blog dedicated solely to our weight loss, so wait for more to come. I also have to say thanks for all the support because I have had more people since I posted my weight and the fact that my goal is to lose 30 pounds on facebook help me with this than I ever expected.

Matt B. - I'm A Dork

This is a la Matt B. again, and seriously the title sums it up, I am a complete dork. If I ever take a step back and look at my life I know that I do lots of dorky stuff and I'm just ok with that. I love to watch chick flicks like The Proposal, Valentine's Day, Made of Honor, Just Like Heaven, Wedding Date, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and 17 Again. Speaking of 17 Again, I love watching all of the High School Musicals...total dork. Howver, I also love movies like Gladiator, Braveheart, The Patriot, and Saving Private Ryan. I watch television shows like Glee, Life Unexpected, Gilmore Girls, and One Tree Hill...super dork. Then I think about other things, I love basketball, football, baseball, and watching the Ducks on tv, although I can watch football and basketball regardless of who is playing. I still get nervous to play church ball, but get excited when I play well and I have to call my dad and tell him how good I did, what a dork I am. Although, I did make a 3/4 court shot at the end of the half a few weeks ago, that was sweet. I love mowing the lawan and doing "manly" or "macho" stuff like that or the stuff that basically you expect the guy to do, but I also like doing the dusting around the house. I don't like doing much of the other cleaning, but the dusting is something that I pride myself on, need I say it again...dork. I believe most of you are probably already aware of my complete and utter dorkiness, but I guess I have finally realized it myself.

The most important part about this post though, about me and my super special dorkiness is that I love being who I am. I know that I watch a lot of stuff that most guys don't but I love it. This all came about from watching Rules of Engagement the other night and the engaged guy, Oliver Hudson, was ashamed to tell this rock and roll guy who he really was. Well this is who I really am. Not to do that whole Saturday Night Live thing where the weird guy makes people look in the mirror and say they are good enough, but seriously I guess that's what this is all about. I love who I am, and gosh darn it I'm good enough.
