Sick =(

We have been very blessed that we went 15 months without Daniel getting sick. Seriously, nothing more that a little runny nose a couple of times. So, you can imagine our reaction when on Monday, Daniel started getting a fever. This kid is constantly moving, doesn't sit long enough to snuggle and he sat in mine or Matt's lap for hours that afternoon and evening. He ate and drank like normal but the Tylenol didn't seem to help bring the fever down. We took him to the doctor on Tuesday because he had a fever of almost 103. We found out that 1. it's not uncommon for kids Daniel's age to get fevers of up to 106 and still be "ok," 2. that he had a mild ear infection (bring on the anti-biotics), and 3. that he was probably fighting off some virus (they took a swab to test). Now the past few days he hasn't eaten much. We have to force him to drink just about anything. His temperature got to 104 at one point but it's gone up and down like crazy. It's just been awful seeing him with such a high temperature but he's been taking it like a champ. (No "hold me" Julie - we'll wait til he's a little more sick for that one.)

Luckily today he's had consistently lower temperatures and is acting more like himself, running around and bringing food to us to give him. Hopefully this sickness is over - it hurts my heart!
